Next time you have a craving for seafood, consider heading over to The Local Oyster. This seafood-focused restaurant has only been open for a couple of months, but is already making a splash, thanks to its quality seafood, friendly staff, and prime location in the Ballston Quarter market dining hall.
Oysters are hand shucked and served right off the ice, and you can choose between skinny dippers, local oysters, or out-of-towners. The menu also includes a variety of steamed options, like the jumbo gulf shrimp with Old Bay and cocktail sauce, as well as whole lobsters with garlic butter and a bib. Yelpers also offer praise give praise to the crab cake sandwiches, lobster rolls, clam chowder, and more. Whatever you choose, you can make a full, hearty meal of it by adding a few sides (try the cheesy bread and the little potatoes) and washing everything down with a local craft beer.
