Nando’s PERi-PERi Chicken recently hopped over from South Africa and landed in Arlington. The casual chain eatery has a few locations in the greater Washington D.C. area, and the Arlington location is just a five-minute walk from The Maxwell apartments.
The food at Nando’s is inspired by Mozambique and Portuguese cuisine. The international chain is famous for its PERi-PERi chicken, which is marinated for 24 hours and then grilled. You can choose your level of spice and all of the dipping sauces your heart desires. There are plenty of other options on the menu if you’re not in the mood for chicken. Try one of the shop’s freshly-made salads or veggie wraps and sandwiches. A kids’ menu is available with smaller portions for young ones, and you can wash all of it down with something sweet from the dessert menu.
