As pasta makers go, Sfoglina is simply one of the best. This DC pasta restaurant maintains a Bib Gourmand designation, and that’s fancy talk for really high-end food at reasonable prices. Sfoglina’s most recent location is now open in Rosslyn, and you can expect more of the same handmade delights from the original two pasta houses.
Delicate hand-twisted cavatelli, paper-thin tortellini, and perfectly puffed gnocchi take center stage on the menu, along with simple, yet expertly prepared sauces. Sfoglina also serves antipasti, salads, and Italian entrees that are all transcendent and too many in number to list here (especially once you add adjectives). And that’s before you even get to the dessert menu. The only way to accurately capture the magic at Sfoglina is to visit, and try to force down as many of the specialty dishes as you can.
